Checklist for Study Abroad Directors

Review the Crisis Management Document. Print this form and share with each faculty member participating with you. Each faculty member going on the trip needs to sign one document and return to Kristin Kasting. You must keep copy for yourself and for other faculty members while on the trip.

Provide the Office of International Education with the following documents at least two weeks prior to your departure date. You should also take copies of this information with you in case of an emergency.

Read More Director of International Education Dorothée Mertz-Weigel Selected for Japan Studies Fellowship

(May 16, 2017) – Armstrong State University Director of International Education Dorothée Mertz-Weigel, Ph.D., has been selected to participate in a Japan Studies Institute Fellowship at San Diego State University from June 5-18, 2017. The two-week Summer Institute will focus on the study of modern Japan and encourages participants to develop strategies for incorporating Japanese studies into courses on their campuses.

(March 10, 2017) – Armstrong State University will offer a new study abroad program in Havana, Cuba from July 9-29, 2017. Students will learn about the history, culture and contemporary issues affecting the Communist island nation post-Fidel Castro. The program is open to all Armstrong students, as well as University System of Georgia transient students, and offers a roster of semester credits.

(October 24, 2016) – Beginning in the spring semester 2017, Armstrong State University will offer a new semester abroad program in Siena, Italy. Students will take classes via Armstrong’s long-time partner, the Dante Alighieri Institute. The 12-week program, which runs from January 22 through April 14, 2017, is open to all Armstrong students, as well as University System of Georgia transient students, and offers a full roster of semester credits.
