Study Abroad - Costa Rica

Date: May 8-16, 2018

Cost: $1,938

This service trip to Costa Rica entails spending time with a Physician at an urgent care facility, as well as, spending time with both a Physical Therapist and a nurse at skilled nursing facility. Each student will spend at least one day with the Physician, one day with the nurse, and one day with the Physical Therapist. We will take an active role in assisting these medical providers as they deliver care to their patients. This service experience will provide students with the insight to the inner workings of the Costa Rican medical system. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn about Costa Rica's healthcare system while taking in the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Additionally, we will go on two excursions as a group and there will be free time allotted to allow students to go on additional excursions and/or spend time at the beach and explore the time. Manuel Antonio is located on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica and is a friendly town where English is readily spoken.
