Costa Rica Spanish

Cost: $3,880 plus tuition

Total immersion Spanish classes at the University of Costa Rica in San Jose. Homestay with host family and two meals per day and laundry once per week. Round trip airfare from Savannah or Jacksonville to San Jose, CR.  Excursions to Poas Volcano, La Paz Botanical Gardens, Isla Tortuga, Cartago, tours of San Jose, weekend trips with hotel and some meal money to Arenal for zipline, horseback riding through the jungle, rappelling down a waterfall, white water tubing.  Another weekend trip with hotel stay to the Pacific or Caribbean beaches.  Experience the Tico lifestyle and practice Spanish outside of class with the family that hosts you.  Dance to salsa, bachata, merengue, reggaeton and boleros in local clubs.  Enjoy the diverse nature of this beautiful country and sample the local delicacies from various restaurants or local markets.  Learn in small classes at one of the most prestigious universities in Central America.

The two-week Summer Institute will focus on the study of modern Japan and encourages participants to develop strategies for incorporating Japanese studies into courses on their campuses.
