Recreation & Wellness: Recreation Center Membership


Armstrong State University believes that students, faculty and staff should strive to maintain a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle. The Armstrong Student Recreation Center opened in the summer of 2007. Here you can find everything you need to get healthy and stay happy - from treadmills to free weights to fitness trainers and group exercise classes.

 

Types of Memberships

Armstrong Main Campus (Savannah) Students

There is no additional cost for main campus students because they already pay Student Recreation fees each semester.

Armstrong Online and Liberty Campus Students

Students taking online only or Liberty Center classes are not assessed Student Recreation fees each semester. Therefore, these students must pay a $43 fee each semester to utilize the Student Recreation Center. Forms may be picked up at the Entry Desk at the Student Recreation Center or Download Student Membership Form

Armstrong Student Plus One

This group is eligible to purchase Recreation Center memberships for an individual that lives at the same address. This could be a spouse or partner of a currently registered student. This membership type must be paid for in advance at the Student Recreation Center. Cost for this membership type is $245 for the year, $90 for the fall or spring semester, and $80 for the summer semester. Forms may be picked up at the Entry Desk at the Student Recreation Center or Download Student Plus One Membership Form.

Armstrong Full-Time Faculty/Staff

All full-time faculty/staff are eligible to purchase Recreation Center memberships at the rate of $132 per year or $44 per semester. They have the option of having this fee payroll deducted at the rate of $11 per month for 12-month employees or $13.20 per month for 10-month faculty. Forms may be picked up at the Entry Desk at the Student Recreation Center or Download Faculty/Staff Membership Form.

Armstrong Adjunct Faculty/Part-Time Staff/Retirees/Contractors

These employees are also eligible to purchase Recreation Center memberships, but they must pay in advance. They may pay either $132 for a yearly membership or $44 per semester. Forms may be picked up at the Entry Desk at the Student Recreation Center or Download Faculty/Staff Membership Form pdf

Armstrong Faculty/Staff/Retiree Plus One

This group is eligible to purchase Recreation Center memberships for an individual that lives at the same address.  This could be a spouse, partner, room mate, or child over 18.  This membership type must be paid for in advance at the Student Recreation Center.  Cost for this membership type is $245 for the year, $90 for the fall or spring semester, and $80 for the summer semester.  Forms may be picked up at the Entry Desk at the Student Recreation Center or Download Plus One Membership Form pdf

Armstrong Alumni

This group is eligible to purchase Recreation Center memberships if they are an active alumni that has registered through the Alumni Development Office (Individuals must make an annual charitable donation of $35 to the Alumni Development Office).  This membership type must be paid for in advance at the Student Recreation Center.  Cost for this membership type is $300 for the year, $120 for the fall or spring semester, and $80 for the summer semester.  Forms may be picked up at the Entry Desk at the Student Recreation Center or Download Alumni Membership Form pdf

Members may pay the Membership Fee:

Membership Fees cannot be prorated for partial semesters, and are non-refundable.

(November 10, 2017) – The Student Government Association and the Liberty Center Student Council of Armstrong State University request donations of new toys for their annual Toys for Tots campaign. The goal for the university’s 2017 campaign is to collect 500 toys. Donation boxes are located throughout campus.

(February 7, 2017) – Armstrong State University’s French Club will host the 9th Annual Francophone Film Festival Feb. 16-18 at the Ogeechee Theatre in the Student Union, located at 11935 Abercorn St. The festival will screen five French-language movies with subtitles covering a wide range of themes and issues. All screenings are free and open to the public.
