Eric Bailey decided to transfer to Armstrong to play basketball, but athletics wasn’t the only thing that drew him in. The Savannah native was already familiar with Armstrong’s strong academic programs, something which fit perfectly with his own ambitions.
In December of 2015 Bailey became a self-published author, and the following summer launched his business, Shine Inc, which focuses on helping and inspiring others to fulfill their dreams and passions.
“I thought, what better way to help inspire other people and convey a message I’ve learned just through my own trials and tribulations?” Bailey explains, “We should all be encouraged to allow our own light to shine, our own gifts, our own passions, whatever it is that we love to do and enjoy doing, we should not hesitate to display those things, because doing that inspires other people.”
During his time at Armstrong, Bailey plans to be heavily involved in campus activities and in social activism, “My goal is to get involved as much as possible,” he explains.
Excited for his future, Bailey is confident in his choice to attend Armstrong, “I’m already building connections and finding more opportunities here,” he says, “I’m absolutely sure this is the right place for me.”
