(June 14, 2017) – U.S. Veterans Magazine has named Armstrong State University as one of the 2017 Best of the Best Top Veteran-Friendly Schools. The annual review is an evaluation of the nation’s employers, initiatives, government agencies and educational institutions. Lists were compiled from market research, independent research, diversity conference participation and survey responses to determine which universities provide learning environments conducive to student veteran success.
(March 10, 2017) – Armstrong State University has been named to the list of the Top 100 Military Spouse Friendly Schools by Victory Media, the publisher of Military Spouse, G.I. Jobs and STEM Jobs, for a second year in a row. The annual list recognizes higher education institutions that actively recruit and support spouses of active duty service members while acknowledging and supporting military spouse students through the unique challenges of military life.

(February 1, 2017) – Armstrong State University recently ranked #20 on Online College Plan’s Top 20 Best Four-Year Colleges for Veterans list. Online College Plan compiled the list by utilizing data and research from multiple sources, such as National Center for Education Statistics, Military Times and Military.com.
(January 5, 2017) – Armstrong State University was recently named a Gold-Level Military Friendly School Award recipient in the small public school category for 2017 by Victory Media, the publisher of G.I. Jobs, STEM Jobs and Military Spouse. This is the eighth year in a row Armstrong has been recognized as a Military Friendly Institution.
(December 16, 2016) – On Dec. 15, Ret. Col. Ed Wexler of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve presented Patriot Awards to College of Science and Technology Interim Dean Delana Gajdosik-Nivens and Armstrong Police Chief Wayne R. Willcox. U.S. Congressman Earl L. “Buddy” Carter attended the ceremony and addressed the audience.
(November 1, 2016) – Earlier today, Military Times honored Armstrong State University, ranking the institution 4th in the nation among four-year schools on its Best for Vets: Colleges 2017 list. This year marks the third consecutive year Armstrong has been included on the prestigious list. In 2016, Armstrong was ranked #7 in the U.S.
(August 17, 2016) – Armstrong State University junior and Georgia National Guardsman Spc. Joseph Broam won the 2016 National Best Warrior title and earned the opportunity to represent the U.S. Army National Guard in the U.S. Army Best Warrior Competition. Broam took top honors at the brigade, state, regional and national levels of the Best Warrior Competition in order to compete against the Army’s finest next month.
(June 8, 2016) – The Home Depot Foundation and Student Veterans of America (SVA) recently awarded the SVA chapter at Armstrong State University $10,000 for its Military Resource Center on campus as part of the Vet Center Initiative. Armstrong is the only university in Georgia to receive this grant.

(December 11, 2015) - Armstrong State University and the City of Hinesville hosted a ribbon cutting for the new Armstrong Liberty Center, located in Hinesville, Ga., on Dec. 10. The 21,000-square-foot facility, which will open to students in January, is more than double the size of the previous Liberty Center.
