Armstrong State University will present its second-ever Eminent Alumni Award to Dr. Irving Victor at its Fourth Annual Alumni Awards Gala on the evening of Friday, October 20, 2017. The Eminent Alumni Award is only presented occasionally an in cases of extraordinary merit. Fifteen other Armstrong alumni will also be honored at the event.

(June 21, 2017) After seven years as Armstrong State University’s president, Dr. Linda Bleicken will retire at the end of this month, but her legacy will never be forgotten thanks to the creation of the Linda and Carl Bleicken Commitment Fund.
(June 15, 2017) – In a yearlong initiative, Armstrong State University’s Alumni Office will host four events to celebrate faculty and staff from the university’s four historic eras, which include The Golden Years: 1937-65; Armstrong State College: 1966-96; Armstrong Atlantic State University: 1997-2014; and Armstrong State University: 2015-17.
On Friday, June 2nd, alumni from near and far gathered for the 2017 Alumni Open House. Over 70 guests enjoyed delicious refreshments, corn hole games on Burnett Lawn and live entertainment by Jason Salzer MA '16 and Tobe Frierson. Afterwards, Alumni Association members gathered in Ogeechee Theater for the Annual Meeting of the Alumni Association.
The Student Government Association honored three Armstrong alumni as "Armstrong Heroes" on April 25.
Emotions ran high when Armstrong alumni gathered in Brunswick on March 14 to hear the latest news about the consolidation between Armstrong State University and Georgia Southern University. After a lengthy question-and-answer period, Alumni Board Member John Sewell ’60 stood up. “I’m just like you, I don’t understand why the state is doing this. I’m upset and I’m disappointed,” Sewell told the assembled group, “but I have come to realize that this isn’t about me; it’s about the students.”

(May 25, 2016) – Savannah residents Michelle and Barry Vine presented a gift of $79,000 to Armstrong State University in support of the university’s state-of-the-art tennis complex, currently under construction on campus. The new complex will be home to Armstrong’s eight-time NCAA Division II National Champion women’s tennis team, and three-time National Champion men’s tennis team..
(May 7, 2016) – Armstrong State University hosted 2016 Spring Commencement on Saturday, May 7, 2016, conferring degrees on more than 800 students, a record number, in a special ceremony at the Savannah Civic Center.

(April 4, 2016) – At a special Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools gala, 28 of Armstrong's College of Education alumni were honored as school-level Teachers of the Year. Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education President Jolene Byrne told attendees that this honor is given in recognition and appreciation of the teachers' service to students and families.

(November 20, 2015) Armstrong has announced its 2016 Armstrong State Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Class. This year's inductees include Ron "Skippy" Hancock '74, Candace Modlinski '08, Sona Novakova '10, Lyndsi Stricklen '09, Tasha Washington '04, and Dale White '05. The 2016 Service Citation Award will be given to Armstrong Professor Donna Mullenax.
Alumni are invited to join us for a sneak peek of the new Armstrong Liberty Center, located at 175 West Memorial Drive in Hinesville, Ga., on Tuesday, December 1, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a short welcome ceremony with light refreshments at 5:30 p.m., followed by self-guided tours of the new facility, ending at 6:45 p.m. We hope to see you there!

On Friday, October 23, honorees and guests from all over the nation gathered at the second annual Alumni Awards Gala to honor some of our most prestigious alumni.
A lively crowd gathered at the Alumni Center Open House on June 5. Later that evening, at the Alumni Association's Annual Meeting in Jenkins Theater, five new Board members were approved and the new slate of officers was confirmed. A new tradition was also launched with the presentation of the first-ever Alumni Volunteer Awards.
The Armstrong Alumni Association mourns the passing of Notable Alumnus Alfred Owens '81, who passed on Wednesday, June 3rd at Hospice Savannah.
