(October 6, 2017) – Armstrong State University Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies Donna Brooks, Ph.D., is the recipient of a four-year U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration’s Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students Program Grant valued at $5.2 million.
(October 4, 2017) - The Armstrong Liberty Center in Hinesville will host an open house and registration event for the university’s 7-week Fall 2017 Mini-mester, which begins on Oct. 16. This event is free and open to the public.

(June 14, 2017) – U.S. Veterans Magazine has named Armstrong State University as one of the 2017 Best of the Best Top Veteran-Friendly Schools. The annual review is an evaluation of the nation’s employers, initiatives, government agencies and educational institutions. Lists were compiled from market research, independent research, diversity conference participation and survey responses to determine which universities provide learning environments conducive to student veteran success.

Jobs and STEM Jobs, for a second year in a row. The annual list recognizes higher education institutions that actively recruit and support spouses of active duty service members while acknowledging and supporting military spouse students through the unique challenges of military life.

Online College Plan compiled the list by utilizing data and research from multiple sources, such as National Center for Education Statistics, Military Times and Military.com.
(January 10, 2016) – In a report published today, U.S.News & World Report ranks Armstrong State University #41 on the 2017 Best Online Criminal Justice Programs list. Armstrong is the only institution in Georgia to be included in the national rankings.
(January 5, 2017) – Armstrong State University was recently named a Gold-Level Military Friendly School Award recipient in the small public school category for 2017 by Victory Media, the publisher of G.I. Jobs, STEM Jobs and Military Spouse. This is the eighth year in a row Armstrong has been recognized as a Military Friendly Institution.
(December 12, 2016) –The College of Education at Armstrong State University will offer a B.S. in Physical Education with a specialized track in Recreation and Coaching in the spring 2017 semester, which begins on Jan. 9.

(October 12, 2016) – The College of Education at Armstrong State University recently received two national rankings. Following evaluation of thousands of other programs, GradSource.com named Armstrong 7th in the nation for Best Online Master’s Program in Education. Teacher.org reviewed 425 colleges and ranked Armstrong’s Early Childhood Education degree program the 17th best in the country.
(May 17, 2016) – Armstrong State University recently hired Tobe R. Frierson as the director of admissions. A veteran admissions expert, Frierson brings more than 13 years of experience in college recruitment management and student services at higher education institutions. In her new role, Frierson is responsible for the strategy, execution and management of Armstrong’s admissions and recruitment process.
(April 4, 2016) – At a special Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools gala, 28 of Armstrong's College of Education alumni were honored as school-level Teachers of the Year. Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education President Jolene Byrne told attendees that this honor is given in recognition and appreciation of the teachers' service to students and families.
(April 4, 2015) — Armstrong State University will offer in-state tuition to residents of Florida, South Carolina and Alabama, starting in the fall semester of 2015. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents recently voted to offer in-state tuition at 10 public universities, including Armstrong.
