Armstrong Goes Green! Students, Faculty and Staff Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Style

(March 21, 2016) - Pirate spirit and green shenanigans were on full display as Armstrong students, alumni, faculty and staff took to downtown Savannah’s streets on Thursday, March 17, to participate in the 192nd St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

But it was Armstrong’s newest pride and joy - a decked-out pirate ship, hand- painted by our very own Pirate and web designer extraordinaire Wes Johnson, that stole the show. Sailing among more than 350 floats in one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day Parades in the U.S., the life-size vessel was topped with shamrocks and touted Armstrong’s 80th anniversary in celebration of the university’s banner year.

“The professors at Armstrong really expand your vision of what a degree field is all about. They push you to see how any major is applicable in the real world.”
