Celebrate Armstrong Festival

Thursday, October 22 • Noon - 6 pm • Burnett Boulevard Lawn

Kick off the Celebrate Armstrong weekend with the biggest celebration of year at the Celebrate Armstrong festival! Explore more than 50 departmental and student organization booths, ride the mechanical bull, climb the Rockwall, participate in games and contests, and enjoy a lineup of live entertainment. This event is free and open to the public.

Celebrate Armstrong Alumni Gala

Friday, October 23 • cocktails at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. • Armstrong Center Ballroom

Celebrate this year’s top alumni as we present the Notable, Outstanding and Distinguished Alumni Awards at a black-tie optional gala evening featuring a cocktail reception, dinner and awards ceremony. The cocktail reception begins at 6 p.m. with dinner and ceremony at 7 p.m. There will be a special pre-reception for our College of Education alumni at 5:30 p.m. in the balcony. Single tickets are $75 and table of eight is available at a group rate of $500. Proceeds will go to benefit scholarship funds to build the next generation of Armstrong Alumni.

Celebrate Armstrong Finale

Saturday, October 24 • 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. • Burnett Boulevard Lawn

Armstrong is hosting a community-wide party to celebrate our 80th anniversary and you’re invited! Enjoy FREE family-friendly fun at Celebrate Armstrong! Highlights include live music by the Band of Oz, a Pirate Costume Contest, kids activities, shag dancing, giveaways and much more. Bring your own picnic or enjoy food for purchase on-site. Don’t miss all the fun!


5:30 - 8:00 p.m.      Children's activity booths, inflatables and games open on Burnett lawn

5:30 - 9:30 p.m.      Leopold's Ice Cream Cart and Campus Food Truck open for food and beverage purchases  

6 - 9:30 p.m.           Live music by the Band of Oz, performing three sets of classic as well as contemporary hits.

7:30 p.m.                 Children's Pirate Costume Contest and Treasure Hunt (ages 2-10) in the International Garden adjacent to the Burnett lawn

8 p.m.                     The Arm-azing Race: Halloween Photo Scavenger Hunt (ages 11-17) begins in the International Garden

9:30 p.m.               Event concludes with the Band's of Oz's final set

Leopold's flavors will include Pirate Treasure, Mint Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Spice, Chocolate, Vanilla and sorbet.
