Center for Regional Analysis

The Center for Regional Analysis meets the applied research needs of Savannah's business and community organizations. Areas of concentrated research include regional economic forecasting, economic impact analysis, economic development and business expansion, tourism development, survey-based research, and specialty reports on topics of state, regional and local interest. The Center's activities appeal to a broad range of constituencies, and the Center stands ready to enter into cooperative partnerships with public, private, and community organizations.

(November 29, 2016)–In a lecture entitled “Landscapes of Unrest: Visual Narratives of Environmentalism and Civil Rights in Photographic Stills,” Visual Arts Professor Angela Horne and African-American Culture Professor Regina Bradley will discuss how seemingly "still" images of a landscape are translated into stories that inform the way we engage with modern American culture and society. This event is free and open to the public.

(November 11, 2016) – Armstrong State University students Roxy Simons and Marisol Estrada, both seniors and political science majors, were semifinalists in the 2017 South Atlantic Regional Moot Court tournament, held at the University of Central Florida. Simons and Estrada took the first seed after winning the quarterfinal round against a team from the University of Georgia.

(November 11, 2016) – Armstrong State University Art, Music and Theatre Department Head Tom L. Cato, Ed.D., received the Georgia Art Education Association (GAEA) Distinguished Service within the Profession Award. This award recognizes an outstanding GAEA member for exemplary contributions, service and achievement at the state level. The award was presented at the annual convention in Gainesville, Ga., on October 15.

(October 24, 2016) – Beginning in the spring semester 2017, Armstrong State University will offer a new semester abroad program in Siena, Italy. Students will take classes via Armstrong’s long-time partner, the Dante Alighieri Institute. The 12-week program, which runs from January 22 through April 14, 2017, is open to all Armstrong students, as well as University System of Georgia transient students, and offers a full roster of semester credits.
