The Armstrong State University Foundation, Inc. (“the Foundation”) is a charitable corporation created under and operating by the laws of the State of Georgia. The Foundation is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation, working through its Board of Trustees, exists to support the mission of Armstrong State University (“the University”). As such, the Foundation strives to raise funds, provide talent, expertise and other resources to further enhance the initiatives and services of the University for its students, clients, and the region. The Foundation specifically seeks funds to provide scholarships for deserving students, to support and improve selected academic enterprises, to support the faculty and staff of the University, to support the University’s service to the community, to improve economic and community development, and to provide aid and advice to further the strategic initiatives of the University.
Net assets of the foundation, held in unrestricted, temporarily restricted and permanently restricted accounts, total over $10 million. The foundation provides more than $300,000 annually to enhance academics and service programs of the university.
