Consolidating Armstrong State University & Georgia Southern University

In January 2017, the University System of Georgia Board of Regents voted to consolidate Armstrong State University and Georgia Southern University. The new, 27,000-student university is Georgia Southern University with campuses in Hinesville, Savannah, and Statesboro. The new Georgia Southern University began in January 2018. Who to and How to Pay


Starting January 2018, students attending all three campuses, scholarship organizations, and vendors will need to make payments payable to Geogria Southern Unviersity.

Student taking courses at the Savannah and/or Liberty Center campus will need to log into their PORT account to view their tuition statements, 1098-T statements, and to view their current student account statuses. Students can go to the Touchnet link in PORT to view this information. Touchnet is the second link on the HOME page of PORT.

Payment Options

  • In the Office:

    Cash, check and money order payments are accepted in the Bursar's Office in Victor Hall, at the Armstrong campus. Checks and money orders need to be made payable to Georgia Southern University. The student’s Eagle ID (907#) number must be included to ensure the payment is posted to the correct student account.
  • Mail:

  • Online:

    Payments can be made by webcheck (free service) or by credit card (fee applies). Student payments can be made via PORT, until Fall 2018. Then students will pay via WINGS at MyGeorgiaSouthern then choose Student, Registration Invoice and Web Payment. Once in Bill + Pay, click ‘make a payment’ and follow the remaining steps.

  • International payments:

    Georgia Southern University has partnered with Flywire by PeerTransfer, a third party for International transactions. Payments need to be made via Flywire™. Armstrong will still be your school destination until Fall 2018.

  • Nelnet Payment Plan:

    Nelnet payment plans are linked to your registration. Students can make plans via PORT until Fall 2018. 

Fall Fall 2018, all tuition statements, 1098-T statements, and current student account statuses will be available through Touchent in your WINGS at MyGeorgiaSouthern. Please see future student emails for details.
