About This Event

In Mexican culture, it is believed that people suffer three deaths when they die: when their hearts stop beating, when their bodies return to the earth and when their memories are forgotten. Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a time to remember those who have passed, thus preventing the final death. To celebrate their lives and honor their memory, altars are decorated with marigold flowers, portraits and favorite foods of loved ones. The Armstrong community is welcome to partake in the altar decoration by bringing pictures and favorite foods of loved ones who have passed on.

This event is sponsored by Hispanic Outreach and Leadership at Armstrong (HOLA), Hispanic Outreach and Retention at Armstrong (HORA) and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
