Alumni Armstrong License Plates Available

With each plate you purchase (and each time you renew), Armstrong receives $10 for scholarship funds for enrolled undergraduate students. Show your pride in Armstrong Atlantic the next time you purchase or renew your vehicle registration in the state of Georgia.

Three easy steps will have you riding in style:

  1. Visit: Georgia Department of Revenue Motor Vehicle Division
  2. Download and complete the required MV-9C form.
  3. Take the completed form to your local County tag office.

How does it work?

Please contact your local county tag office to request the Armstrong license plate. The Plate Category Code is AQ. You can print out a copy of the plate sample to take with you:

What does it cost?

Initial cost = $80 plus applicable ad valorem tax
                    Manufacturing Fee: $25 (one time fee)
                    Annual Tag Registration Fee: $20
                    Annual Specialty Plate Fee: $35
                    Ad Valorem Tax: if applicable

Renewal Cost = $55 plus applicable ad valorem tax

Can I get a vanity plate with letters/numbers of my choosing?

The plates are pre-made, so you will not be able to get a plate that says PIR8S on it.

Emotions ran high when Armstrong alumni gathered in Brunswick on March 14 to hear the latest news about the consolidation between Armstrong State University and Georgia Southern University. After a lengthy question-and-answer period, Alumni Board Member John Sewell ’60 stood up. “I’m just like you, I don’t understand why the state is doing this. I’m upset and I’m disappointed,” Sewell told the assembled group, “but I have come to realize that this isn’t about me; it’s about the students.”
