Participating in a music ensemble gives you the opportunity to work with other students while practicing your performance skills. Primarily featuring music majors, all AMT music ensembles welcome Armstrong students from any degree program.

Student Organizations

Collegiate Music Educators National Conference (CMENC)

Music Education majors at Armstrong are encouraged to join and participate in Collegiate Music Educators National Conference. CMENC is the collegiate division of the National Association for Music Education (NAME), formerly Music Educators National Conference (MENC). As collegiate members, our music education majors begin to make lifelong connections that will be invaluable in their future profession as music educators. Through CMENC, students network with other future and current music educators from across the state of Georgia; they attend professional development workshops and conferences, participate in community outreach, and enjoy collegial social activities with fellow musicians and music educators.

Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia

The Rho Theta chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia at Armstrong State University was founded in November of 2007. This fraternity is open to men who share a passion for all things music.

The object of this fraternity shall be for the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit; the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students; the advancement of music in America; and a loyalty to the alma mater.

Sinfonians share a love of music that unites them as brothers with a common interest. The fraternity teaches men to develop themselves and their art, not for the sake of art itself, but as a means of enriching the lives of others. Through a multitude of chapter, provincial, and national events, Sinfonia offers unlimited opportunities for performance, community music outreach, and other activities designed to develop a true appreciation for the power of music to uplift the soul.
