CS & IT: Student Resources

Students are encouraged to take part in activities and attend special lectures that focus on various aspects of the Computer Science industry.

Students may wish to join the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery). Membership in the ACM affords you a wide variety of benefits to help you network with other IT professionals and keep abreast of new developments in the industry.

The Computer Science Program sponsors a luncheon/colloquium with the Mathematics Department. It takes place on the second, third, fourth, and fifth Wednesday of each month. For a dollar you can enjoy a delicious light lunch, invigorating conversation with fellow students and faculty members, and a lecture, demonstration, or other event arranged by faculty, students and/or visitors. Please come.

Programming Team

The Computer Science Programming Team competes yearly with over 70 schools from the Southeast United States. Our team consists entirely of undergraduate students, yet we compete against many graduate students from S.C.C. and A.C.C. conferences. Our average rank is within the top 25%.

If you are using OS X in order to log into jib via SSH you will need to do the following:

Open Terminal Application

  1. At the prompt type: ssh
  2. Enter your password at the password prompt

That's it. The prompt will then change to the jib prompt and you are logged into jib.
