In AASU's fine arts program, this talented Pirate enjoyed lead roles in "Crazy for You," "Talley's Folly" and "Arsenic and Old Lace." As a freshman, he performed seven times a week in equity productions of "Beauty and the Beast" and "Fiddler on the Roof," sharing the stage with professional actors and directors from New York.
However, Ben's favorite role was serving as director of the AASU musical "The Full Monty" in his senior year. "That was an amazing experience on every level," he raves. "The positive response was overwhelming."
This rising star recently formed his own production company, shot an improv comedy pilot in Atlanta and successfully directed local productions of "Fiddler on the Roof" and "The Sound of Music." He plans to continue his career in theatre, both in the spotlight and behind the scenes, long after graduation. Ben is currently director of performing arts at Hilton Head Preparatory School.
Ben credits his success to outstanding experiences onstage and in the classroom. "Not many college students get the chance to enjoy the opportunities provided by AASU. Armstrong offers the ideal environment to turn your dreams into reality."
