Reading Endorsement Program
About the Reading Endorsement Program
The Reading Endorsement is designed to provide focused graduate study in reading specialization for certified teachers of grades K-12. Upon completion, the candidate can add the Reading Endorsement to a renewable teaching certificate. The program can be completed as a stand-alone endorsement.
Teachers trained in reading through Armstrong's College of Education are highly effective teachers who create a literate environment that fosters reading and writing by integrating foundational knowledge, use of instructional practices, approaches and methods, curriculum materials and the appropriate use of assessments.
A representative sample of alumni from the Reading Endorsement Program are currently working or have worked in the following institutions, organizations and/or agencies.
- Savannah-Chatham County Public School System
- Bryan County Public Schools
- Effingham county Schools
- Glynn County School System
- Liberty County School System
- Savannah area private schools
Armstrong is authorized to offer online programs in many states. Authorization is currently pending in additional states as Armstrong continues to research and respond to the requirements for each state.
