Ebola Update from President Bleicken

Ebola Virus Disease (EBD) is a topic of great national concern at this time. At Armstrong, we share this concern and are taking proactive steps to educate faculty, staff and students and to protect members of the university community from potential exposure.

As healthcare professionals, it is critical that we follow the established guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease and Prevention (CDC).  These guidelines are posted on the following websites:

All Armstrong healthcare faculty, staff and students in clinical settings have been trained in standard, contact, and droplet precautions, including proper hand washing and the use of personal protective equipment.

At Armstrong, we are in close contact with our clinical partners and area healthcare facilities to coordinate worker, patient, and public safety. At the same time, we are carefully monitoring the CDC website and will provide regular updates as new prevention and control recommendations from the CDC become available.

Thank you very much for your concern. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact Dr. Anne Thompson, Interim Dean, at Anne.Thompson@armstrong.edu or 912.344.2565.
