Student Government Association

President's Welcome
Welcome Students, Faculty, and Staff! This year in SGA we are looking to raise the expectation in what you expect out of your student leaders. This year your student leaders will be working on a system of what I have crafted and has worked for me in my over 10 years now in student service, the Three V’s system Viability, Visibility and Victorious. In our plans to be visible we plan on making sure the students know why we are placed in our positions, we are here to work for the students and are actively working to receive more student input on all issues and events. We also would like to make students aware of all of the parking rules in regulations on campus because that has proven to be one of the biggest struggles we as students have. It is important to know that we are in our positions to represent you and want you to come to us with your concerns.
To be a viable organization we must increase our credibility with the faculty, staff, and most importantly the students. We have to gain the trust and the confidence of the student body by working hard to manifest those things which we as students desire from our University. When the students rely on us we must return the favor by providing proven and tested results. Simply put “When called upon to Act, then Act we shall”.
Equally as important as the aforementioned V’s is being and achieving victory, and being victorious. In order for SGA to be victorious it must first be visible and viable, and it does this by strengthening the bonds with the Armstrong community through engagement and collaborative efforts with student organizations and the individual students throughout the campus.
This year we are also going to work to unify the student organizations on campus. This will be paramount in making sure all student voices are heard no matter where you fit in on campus you have a say in the decisions that affect Armstrong. I believe we as student leaders, must always remember that it is student interest that we serve. And in serving those interests we must do our part to reach out and include our fellow classmates.
So this year we look forward to hearing from you and for you to know that we are put in our positions for no other reason than to represent YOU….
