BS in Mathematical Sciences, Pure Mathematics Option Sample Curricula
The following are samples of how the requirements for the degree can be met in eight semesters. There are three versions; all assume that the student begins his or her studies in the Fall. Version A assumes that the student is wellprepared enough to take Calculus I in the Fall of his or her first year. Version B assumes that the student takes Precalculus in the Fall of his or her first year. Finally, Version C assumes that the student begins with College Algebra in the Fall of his or her first year. For the Pure Mathematics option, math electives must include at least one of MATH 3170, MATH 4022, and MATH 5160U. Upper division electives must be chosen from any area in the College of Liberal Arts or the College of Science and Technology.
