STEM faculty host workshop on Additive Manufacturing for PULSE Art+Technology Festival

Faculty from Engineering (Dr. Wayne Johnson), Art (Prof. Angela Horne), Biology (Dr. Austin Francis) and Mathematics (Dr. Jared Schleiper) have partnered to establish a multidisciplinary group to explore the use of additive manufacturing (AM) technology to enhance teaching, learning and research across the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) disciplines. On January 26, 2013, the group hosted a workshop in the PULSE Art+Technology Festival for area K-12 teachers. The workshop provided an overview of AM technology, application examples in art, biology, and mathematics, and a live demonstration of the AM system currently used in Engineering Studies.
