SERMACS 2012 – Six Faculty and Fourteen Students Represent Armstrong

Six faculty members from the chemistry program and biology program represented Armstrong at the Southeast Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society (SERMACS) in Raleigh North Carolina.  Fourteen Armstrong chemistry and biology majors also attended the conference with the group giving fifteen professional presentations.  SERMACS is an annual meeting of the chemists in the SE region of the United States and represents one of 10 regional meetings of the over 160,000 members of the American Chemical Society.  Historically, SERMACS is the largest of the regional meetings hosted by the ACS.  The students and faculty  were able to attend the meeting of almost 1400 presentations through support of National Science Foundation grants, the College of Science and Technology and Department of Chemistry and Physics.  (http://www.sermacs2012.org/)
