Professor Mullenax Offers a Georgia Landforms Workshop
Donna Mullenax, physics, offered the Georgia Landforms Workshop for K-8 Teachers in southeast Georgia. The workshop, traveled throughout the state during the week of June 8-13 to give elementary and middle school teachrs an opportunity to study Georgia landforms first hand and investigate their science, georgraphy and history. Participants explored the Okefenokee Swamp, Providence Canyon, the Fall Line, Cloudland Canyon, Amicalola Falls, Tallulah Gorge, Brasstown Bald, Stone Mountain and a kaolin mine. The workshop was funded by the National Science Foundation through the Georgia Teacher Quality program at a level of $57,079.
