Dr. Richard Wallace Named 2012 Notable Alumni for Armstrong
Dr. Richard Wallace, Professor of Chemistry, was named to the Armstrong Notable Class of 2012. The program provides a way to recognize Armstrong alumni who distinguish themselves in the professions. Dr. Wallace received a B.S. in chemistry in 1984 and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Clemson University in 1988. He was then awarded a Merck Pharmaceutical Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Colorado State University. In 1990 he joined the faculty at the University of Alabama as an organic chemist. In 1995 he returned to Armstrong to work with undergraduates more directly in teaching and undergraduate research. Dr. Wallace has 30 referred publications, more than 100 professional presentations and over $1,000, 000 in external funding during his tenure as a chemistry faculty member.
