Dr. Cliff Padgett (chemistry) publishes a chapter in the Encyclopedia of Nanotechnology.
Dr. Cliff Padgett (chemistry) and collaborator Dr. Tad Whiteside, have published a book chapter titled “Modeling Thermal Properties of Carbon Nanostructure Composites”. The reference for this book chapter is the Encyclopedia of Nanotechnology, B. Bhushan, Ed. (Springer, New York, NY, 2012) 1436-1441. The chapter describes the high thermal conductivity of carbon nano composites which may make them ideally suited for use as heat sinks in electronics. These composites typically consist of single or multiwall carbon nanotubes or nanostructures which can be dispersed in polymeric matrices at a relatively low weight percent.
