Ashley Hicks, a senior chemistry major from Savannah, was selected to participate in the Green Chemistry Student Workshop in conjunction with the 15th Annual Green Chemistry and Engineering Conference held in Washington D.C. June 20-24, 2011.  The workshop was designed to teach undergraduates students the principles of green chemistry and its applications in industry and effects on the environment.   This information was presented by leaders in the field from around the country  Students also had the opportunity to meet, network and talk to the experts.  Finally, the students learned techniques in toxicology and participated in an outreach event.
