AASU Hosts Georgia Science Bowl
The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Armstrong Atlantic State University will again this year host the both the regional and state level contests of the Georgia Science Bowl. This competition is part of the National Science Bowl hosted by the United States Department of Energy. The regional competition will take place on February 6 with teams from throughout the state participating at various universities, including AASU. The top teams from each region, which include some of the brightest high school science students in the state, will then come to AASU on February 27 to compete for a spot in the National Science Bowl held in Washington DC in late April. Sixty-four teams travel to Washington DC with a chance to be National Champions. The DOE National Science Bowl is a "jeopardy-style" competition with questions from astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, physics, and mathematics. The competition is fast paced and incredibly exciting to participate in or watch.
