An Associate of Science with a track in Business at Armstrong is tailored specifically for students seeking to enhance their grasp of business, and economics, providing them with skills that will make them more marketable in the increasingly competitive labor markets. This degree will provide students with an important first step in the development of their critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills needed for remaining competitive.
An Associate of Science with a track in Business from Armstrong State University will:
- Develop and hone students’ analytical skills.
- Provide a curriculum that will educate them in business, finance, and economics.
- Provide students with an opportunity to work closely with faculty members for a better understanding of the material and the development of essential communication skills.
- Afford students the option to further their education by applying their credits toward a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics.
While an Associate of Science with a track in Business is an excellent stand alone credential, it can also serve as a prime candidate for a stepping stone to a Bachelor degree in Economics, also offered at Armstrong State University. The 62 credit hours earned toward an Associate of Science in Business can also be transferred and applied to a Bachelor’s degree in Business, allowing students to further their academic pursuits and increase their marketability to current or future employers.
Course of Study
To acquire a Degree of Associate of Science with a track in Business, students are required to take 44 hours of core courses. They also must to take 18 hours of business related courses, such as principles of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Accounting, Applied Mathematics, and a computer concepts and applications course.
