Post-Baccalaureate, Non-Degree Teacher Certification in Art Education

The Post-Baccalaureate, Non-Degree Teaching Certificate in Art Education is designed for individuals who hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in an approved field and wish to secure initial certification to teach art in grades K-12.  Individuals who hold a teaching certificate in another field and wish to obtain initial certification in Art Education may also be interested in this program.

Program Features

The Post-Baccalaureate Program in Art Education is designed as a certification-only, non-degree granting program. Admitted students will receive an individualized program of study built upon transfer courses (if any) and the requirements for certification. Most courses are offered face-to-face at night and some courses are available online.

Course of Study

Coursework consists of professional education classes, specialized courses regarding school environments, specialized content  courses and an internship. A full-time, semester-long, field-based graduate internship is under the tutelage of a university supervisor.  This internship cannot begin until all other required courses have been completed. The successful completion of all program requirements will result in a teaching certificate.
