Adult Education & Community Leadership Graduate Certificate

Instead of earning a Master's degree, students may choose to earn a certificate in Adult Education. The certificate is designed to assist individuals who are trainers and educators to better disseminate their knowledge to others. Students may choose one of two tracks: Human Resource Development and Literacy Education.

Career Opportunities

The certificate in Adult Education allows the individual to enhance existing skills and to acquire new knowledge in the area of human resource development and literacy education. As an adult educator, you may teach large classrooms of students at the high school or university level, or you may teach small groups of adults in corporate settings. Sometimes, adult educators work with students on an individual basis.

Program Features

We expect our students to become proficient in the use of technology in the classroom, and technology is woven into every education course. In addition, The Technology Center for teacher educators offers a variety of technologies available for classroom infusion.

An active Student Georgia Association of Educators (SGAE) offers excellent opportunities for involvement in a professional education organization.

Course of Study

The certificate consists of 4 courses for a total of 12 semester hours of study. With an advisor, the student designs a personal plan of study in a specific area of interest among the course options.
