As a unit of the University System of Georgia and Armstrong State University, the theatre program of the Armstrong Department of Art, Music & Theatre is committed to fostering an environment of academic, cultural (artistic) and leadership excellence in theatre by:
  • providing the highest quality performance opportunities for students and community to stimulate intellectual growth, provide cultural enrichment and promote a lifelong love of drama in all of its forms (stage, musical, readers' theatre, video production, film);
  • creating an environment of academic expectation and achievement that is grounded in recognized, professional standards;
  • advancing scholarship, creative endeavors, teaching, and service to the community through exemplary leadership in dramatic performance;
  • serving as a community resource for the enhancement of dramatic performances, both in terms of quantity and quality, throughout the region; and
  • most importantly, creating a learning environment, and providing opportunities for our students to attain the skills demanded by the entertainment industry marketplace.
