Music & Music Education Program Menu
Reservations for auditions are currently UNAVAILABLE. The Armstrong Music Faculty will announce the dates later this year.
Conveniently scheduled following Pirate’s Preview, Armstrong’s campus visitation and open house, this unique opportunity allows gifted high school seniors to audition to for Armstrong music major candidacy during their Pirate's Preview visit.
The day is structured to compliment your visit to Armstrong's Pirate Preview open house in the morning. Following your Pirate Preview experience, we will begin your music visit with a brief informational meeting in Armstrong’s Fine Arts Auditorium, where Armstrong's excellent music faculty will be available to answer any questions about the music department, the degrees that are offered, and any questions about student life on our beautiful Armstrong campus. This meeting will be followed by a program of activities tailored to introduce you to current students and faculty in your chosen area of study. You will take your audition for the music program during this afternoon as well.
Application for admission to all music degree programs at Armstrong State University should be made at the same time as application for admission to Armstrong. Applications for the music degree programs should be submitted directly to the Department of Art, Music & Theatre rather than the Admissions Office.
Prior to admission to a degree program in music or music education, the music or music education major applicants will perform a live audition in the principal area of applied study. In the event that you cannot attend Armstrong’s Pirate Preview but are still considering attending Armstrong, please request a weekday audition at a time that would be more convenient.
Additionally, all entering students in music or music education (including transfer students) will take placement examinations as appropriate in applied music and music theory.
To request an audition and admission to the music program please submit an Audition Reservation Form. It must be received by the music program before an audition date and time may be scheduled.
