The Armstrong Music Faculty is pleased to announce its “Audition and Visitation Day” scheduled for Friday, February 8, 2013. Armstrong's music audition day is a unique opportunity for prospective students to get a glimpse of the campus, meet current students and visit with professors. We invite all students who may be considering studying music in college as well as those students who would like to continue music as an extracurricular activity while in college to attend.
The day will begin with a brief informational meeting in Armstrong’s Fine Arts Auditorium, where music faculty will be available to answer any questions about the music department, the degrees that are offered and any questions about student life on the beautiful Armstrong campus. This meeting will be followed by a recital given by current Armstrong music students, after which a guided tour will be given. There will also be opportunities to observe our Wind Ensemble and University Chorale in rehearsal.
Application for admission to all music degree programs at Armstrong Atlantic State University should be made at the same time as application for admission to Armstrong. Applications for the music degree programs should be submitted directly to the Department of Art, Music & Theatre and not the Admissions Office.
Prior to admission to a degree program in music or music education, the prospective music or music education major is required to have a live audition in the principal area of applied study. In the event that you cannot attend Armstrong’s “Audition and Visitation Day” but are still considering attending Armstrong, please request a weekday audition at a time that would be more convenient.
Additionally, all entering students in music or music education (including transfer students) must take placement examinations as appropriate in applied music and music theory.
