About this event:
AMT hosts an art gallery reception at 5:30 p.m., Friday, January 20th for its inaugural National 2-D Competition Exhibition.

Armstrong Art faculty member and exhibit director Pang-Chieh Hsu views the inaugural event as an important step towards increased national recognition for Armstrong's quality art program. "Our long-term goal is to have the show become a well-recognized, “must attend” exhibition among artists and art-lovers throughout United States. From the looks of this inaugural show, we’re well on our way." Hsu also explained the impact a show of this prominence will have on Armstrong students: "The exhibition experience is designed to help our art students understand current trends in contemporary art from a variety of individual conceptual perspectives."

Join AMT in celebrating the artists in our first national exhibition by attending this gallery reception in their honor. The 29 works selected by juror Shana Barefoot, collections and exhibition manager at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (MOCA GA), represent "in my assessment, a combination of strong craftsmanship, a celebration of the chosen medium, and an overall strength of concept. Congratulations to the award winners and thank you all for sharing your work!"

This exhibit is open through January 27th in Armstrong's Fine Arts Gallery.

Gallery exhibition hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays
Admission to the exhibition and to the gallery is free of charge.
