Bachelor of Arts in Spanish

After completing the elementary and intermediate level Spanish courses, Spanish majors, in their 30-hour program, embark on advanced study of the language, taking courses in conversation and composition and in grammar and syntax. Full familiarity with a language also involves an understanding of the literatures and cultures of the language's native speakers. Armstrong Spanish majors, consequently, after an introductory course in Spanish literature, choose from a wide array of courses on the literature and culture of Spain and Latin America. The aim of the program is fluency in the language and a deep understanding and appreciation of the civilizations and culture of Spanish-speaking people.
