Bachelor of Arts in English

English majors begin their studies by completing course work in literature and humanities as well as survey courses in English and American literature. These courses include studies of specific literary periods, examinations of genre, readings in special literature topics, explorations of writing, and introductions to theory. Students are encouraged to broaden their learning by pursuing a minor of their choice such as art, communication, economics, film, foreign language, gender studies, history, linguistics, philosophy, or writing.
