Our Department
In order to offer students the most diverse academic experience, Gender and Women’s Studies faculty are selected from a wide range of academic departments and have a unique blend of research interests. Some of these interests include bioethics, welfare history, animals and society, television studies, human sacrifice, literary studies, feminist theory, and material culture.
The Gender and Women’s Studies department also works with many community and campus organizations to provide students with opportunities to put their education in action. From volunteering at the local rape crisis center to doing advocacy work with our Gay Straight Alliance or Feminists United groups, our students stay busy advocating for the issues they care about.
