In addition to the concert title piece, this program includes the lively cosmopolitan street-scene depiction First Through Traffic, beautiful excerpt arrangements of Carl Orff's medieval-inspired cantata Carmina Burana and Christopher Rouse's Ka-ka-ilimoku, a ferocious work based on Hawaiian mythology.
Student conductor Janet McGarity conducts Eliot del Borgo's Preludio for Percussion.
Dr. Randall Reese, saxophone, and Dr. Emily Grundstad-Hall, soprano, are featured soloists.
The concert is at 7:30 p.m. in the Armstrong Fine Arts Auditorium.
