About this event:
Under the direction of Armstrong's Mark Johnson and the assistance of South Effingham High School's Sean McBride the Savannah Winds continues its 2011-2012 subscription season with its annual springtime performance, "Ed & Friends" POPS Concert.

Music by John Philip Sousa, George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Percy Grainger, Aaron Copland and Savannah's own Johnny Mercer highlight this year's program, an annual concert during which bright overtures, popular film score medleys, classic symphonic arrangements, and famous jazz melodies always brighten the concert hall.

Join Savannah's community wind symphony in residence at Armstrong as it renews its glorious tribute to the legacy and memory of Ed Caughran, celebrated Savannah music educator, with this special concert that reminds us how we all hold dear the transcendent qualities that music provides and the variety of media where we enjoy these extraordinary musical experiences.
