About this event:
Armstrong AMT presents a Fall 2014 Senior Graduation Art Exhibition titled 6° of Separation. The show explores the capstone work of six artists with one connection and will open October 13 and end on October 28, 2014. Doors at Armstrong State University’s Fine Art Gallery will be open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Artist talks and reception will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 5:30-7pm.
All six young artists are displaying different ideas through different mediums. Types of work to be included in the exhibition are 3-D mixed media, handmade ceramic pieces of raku and pit-fire descent, graphic design and lots of photography. One of the artists Hoyt Ramey said, “6º of Separation reflects years of hard work and dedication. The six of us all have different styles and cover a wide variety of mediums, but in the end we all have in common a high level of craftsmanship and enormous amount of devotion to our art. It’s a show you will not want to miss.”
Maria Hendre, another artist from the group, expresses her excitement about the show saying “This is the embodiment of all of our hard work during our time at Armstrong. I have mixed feelings of joy and sadness over graduating and entering a new phase of life. This show is the pinnacle of our academic careers. We are the first to present and we will definitely not disappoint!”
The opening of this exhibition is rapidly approaching and everyone is invited, especially those with a keen eye to delightful art and an appreciation of great craftsmanship.
Graduating bachelors of fine arts and bachelors of arts degree candidates display their artwork produced for this capstone project.
The artists will hold a gallery reception at 5:30 p.m., Friday, October 24th.
