Hsu also explained the impact a show of this prominence will have on Armstrong students: "The exhibition experience is designed to help our art students understand current trends in contemporary art from a variety of individual conceptual perspectives."
Juror Sean Greene, who holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, narrowed the impressive submission pool to a show that includes 28 works from over 200 submissions sent by 60 artists from all over the country.
Upon completing the selection process Greene reflected "I am reminded of what a great moment in history it is to be making visual art. As the wide array of sensibilities in the submissions suggest, the present time in our art culture retains no dominant style, no exclusion, no prescribed form. There are no rules. The only guides artists have are themselves... I deeply enjoyed looking through the vast array of choices."
