Department of Rehabilitation Sciences
Welcome to the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences! The department was created in the summer of 2010 from the previously separate departments of Physical Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders.
The department offers undergraduate and accredited graduate programs in Rehabilitation Sciences and Communication Sciences and, since 2009, a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. We are located in beautiful, historic Savannah, Georgia, just 40 minutes from the beach and close to both Hilton Head and St. Simons Island.
Our facilities include the Rite Care Center for Communication Disorders, located in the Armstrong Center, and the 3200 sq foot state-of-the-art Biodynamics and Human Performance Center, established in 2008 in collaboration with the Department of Health Sciences. The Biodynamics Center comprises three specialized laboratories: the Biomechanics Laboratory, the Muscle Performance Laboratory and the Exercise Physiology Laboratory. Other facilities include an anatomy lab, a pulmonary function lab, and a clinical athletic training facility.
