How do I apply for admission to the BSN program?

  • You must first be accepted to Armstrong
  • If you meet the minimum requirements, you may apply for admission to the BSN program for the upcoming semester

Is there an entrance exam required for admission into the BSN program?

  • Yes.  Applicants will be required to take the Test of Essential Academic Skills version 5 (TEAS V)

How many students are selected each year?

  • The BSN program accepts 80 students for Fall and Spring semesters each year.

What is Armstrong Advantage?

Armstrong Advantage is available to students who have not attended another college or university.  Students who meet and maintain the requirements for Armstrong Advantage will be guaranteed a seat in the BSN program.

In order to apply for Armstrong Advantage the student must:

  • not have attended another college or university
  • maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 while taking core courses
  • have no failures or repeats of courses
  • successfully passes the TEAS V

If the requirements are met, the student may meet with their Advisor to complete the Armstrong Advantage application.  Once the application has been approved by the Department Head, the student will receive a letter of conditional acceptance as future Nursing program student.  Accepted Advantage students are required to complete all core areas at Armstrong with no repeats or failures. Students who fail to maintain the criteria for Armstrong Advantage must apply for regular admission during the next admission cycle.

How long does it take to complete the BSN program?

The program is designed to be completed in four semesters. However, a part-time option is available. Students who choose the part-time course, must complete all nursing courses within four years.

How can I tell if a course at my present college will transfer to Armstrong? is a web-based data information system. This program provides a transfer equivalency table to prospective and currently enrolled students as a guide in determining Armstrong course equivalencies (CORE only) at University System of Georgia and area institutions. Please check with our advising department for transfer of credits.

If I am currently a nursing student at another university how can I transfer to Armstrong's BSN program and keep my nursing credits?

Transfer students who have nursing course credit from another college or university, must supply a letter of good standing from the dean of the school of nursing, transcripts, course descriptions and syllabi for consideration by the Department Head. At least half of the nursing courses must be completed at Armstrong.

I have a Bachelor's (or Master's) Degree that is not in nursing. Am I eligible to apply for the BSN program?

Yes, post-baccalaureate students are considered for admission. Prior to admission, you will need to complete the following courses: Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II with labs, Microbiology with lab, Introduction to Psychology, Human Growth & Development, and Statistics. Prior to graduation from Armstrong, you must also meet the legislative requirement for Georgia History/Government.
