Department of Medical Laboratory Science

We invite you to discover the exciting field of Medical Laboratory Science. Medical laboratory scientists (also known as medical technologists) provide essential clinical information to health care providers and are responsible for assuring reliable results that contribute to the prevention, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of physiological and pathological conditions. Laboratory tests are extremely valuable and contribute up to 70% of all medical decisions made by health care providers.

We offer the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science in three tracks:

Traditional Track
The traditional track is for entering freshmen and transfer students. Students with a BS degree in biology, chemistry or related science fields are eligible for this track as well.
The deadline to apply for the traditional track is April 1.

MLT to MLS Online Career Program
The department offers an online career-ladder track to enable certified medical laboratory technicians (MLT) to advance their education. The online track is limited to those with MLT credentials with a current working experience in an approved clinical site. The deadline to apply for the MLT to MLS online career program track is April 1.

MLS Online Fast Track
The fast track program is available to students with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, chemistry, or a related science field. The deadline to apply for the fast track program is March 1.
