The Effect of Sitting on Stability Balls on Lower Back Pain and Core Endurance
Lower back pain (LBP) is a common problem. Over two thirds of adults will experience LBP at some point in their life, and between 12 and 44% are experiencing LBP at any given moment. LBP is particularly prevalent in those who spend much of their time sitting. This research study is a randomized controlled trial with 89 participants. The purpose of this study is to determine whether sitting on a stability ball 90 minutes/day, five days/week has an effect on core endurance and LBP, as compared to traditional chairs.
