"Magic Gloves" and Upper Extremity Plyometric Research

The Biodynamics and Human Performance Center has a research arm investigating upper extremity plyometrics. Several prior studies have been presented at various national and international meetings as well as publications in Index Medicus journals. The focus of one of the current ongoing research projects using a multidisciplinary approach (Health Sciences, Engineering, Physical Therapy) is utilizing the "magic gloves". These are instrumented gloves with force transducers, developed by the engineering department,  to allow data collection of some of the forces created when performing upper extremity plyometrics. The following pictures demonstrate the development and ongoing research project investigating use of the "magic gloves" with upper extremity plyometrics.
