Master of Arts: Early Childhood Education
Graduates with an M.A.T. degree in Early Childhood Education receive an initial T-5 license upon completion of requirements and are certified to teach preschool through fifth grade in the state of Georgia.
Graduates of Early Childhood Education programs are in demand and the employment outlook for elementary teachers is positive. Our graduates are employed in Chatham County, as well as surrounding counties, in other parts of the state, and nationally.
All teacher education programs at Armstrong Atlantic State University are approved by the Georgia professional Standards Commission and accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
Early Childhood Education students gain valuable field experience and internships in cooperating local schools. We integrate field experiences throughout major courses. Because we have a low student-to-faculty ratio, our students receive personalized education in all areas of teacher education. The faculty wants success for candidates.
An active Student Georgia Association of Educators (SGAE) chapter offers excellent opportunities for involvement in a professional education organization.
