Regents' Exam
An Overview
The Regents' Test measures college-level writing and reading skills. The Essay test presents four topics and allows a choice of one on which to write an essay. The Reading test contains nine reading passages, each followed by six multiple-choice items. One hour is allowed for each of the Essay and Reading tests. Time designated for the test session includes check in and seating, oral and printed directions, and distribution and collection of test materials, as well as testing time. There is no charge for the Regents' Test.Register for the Regents' Test through your SHIP account. There you will find dates, times, instructions, and locations. Make sure that you print a copy of your registration confirmation, for you will need it to enter the testing area.
