Deny Student Access to Vista eClassroom Course

If you need to work on your class and do not want students to access your course before the first day of class, click on the Teach tab and click Grade Book (located under Instructor Tools on the left hand side of the screen). Select all students (make sure that you deselect the instructor account and the demo student account) and click Deny Access.

IMPORTANT: You must deselect your account (instructor account) and the demo student account. If you deny access to these accounts, you will create a situation where you will not be able to access your course.

Please note that you will have to do this on a daily basis to ensure that students cannot access your course, as students will regain access to the course each time students are uploaded to Vista. It is best to rebuild/update your course materials (i.e., Syllabus, assignment due dates) as soon as possible.

After you have finished making changes to your course(s), you can then grant access to students. Once again, go to the Grade Book, select all students and then click Grant Access. Please note that students expect to have access to their 100% online courses by the first day of classes.
